In 2025, IPPR is launching a new initiative to promote the use of recycled plastic and guide businesses and public authorities in the use of the Plastica Seconda Vita (PSV) certification: a series of practical and accessible guides designed to provide clarity and support for those working in the sector.
What’s the aim? To provide practical tools to help people understand how certification works, how to use it correctly, and why it adds value for businesses, consumers and public authorities.
The first guides are already online:
- ‘Recycled plastics: what does the public sector have to do with the secondary raw materials market?’ An overview of how PSV certification enables organisations to participate in tenders, thereby promoting the green transition and the circular economy, including through green procurement.
- “Attenzione ai fake”. A guide designed to help businesses and consumers distinguish genuine certifications from fake ones. In fact, PSV certification verifiably and under accredited conditions certifies the percentage of recycled plastic contained in a product, thereby reducing the risk of greenwashing; it must be obtained through third-party audits and is legally valid.
- ‘PSV certification: a step-by-step guide’. A quick and practical guide to understanding how to obtain certification in just a few simple steps.
A guide detailing the technical benefits of PSV certification is now available. We explain in which contexts it is required, where it can be of assistance, and why it is important to know that Plastica Seconda Vita is an accredited certification – that is, a certification issued by accredited third-party certification bodies, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 765/2008, as required by various Italian and European regulations.
You can use the PSV certificate whenever you want or need to demonstrate the recycled content of your products. Write to the IPPR Office (segreteria@ippr.it) today to find out how to certify your products.
Certification is waiting for you!
